Scanned pages become text
A photographed page or image-only PDF has no selectable text. CamScanner OCR reads the characters and rebuilds them as text you can type over. A straight, well-lit scan converts more cleanly than a blurred photo.
Tables and columns stay structured
The converter looks for paragraphs, images, and table structure instead of pouring the page into one text block. Simple tables and headings usually keep their shape. Nested tables, tight columns, missing fonts, mind maps, and some tables of contents can still shift—review the Word file before you send it.
A standard .docx
The result is an ordinary Word file. It opens in Microsoft Word, Google Docs, WPS, LibreOffice, and Pages. The person you send it to does not need CamScanner installed to read it.

Paper forms and locked PDF forms are slow when the same sheet is filled again and again. With CamScanner Premium, photograph the form or import the PDF in the Web App, convert it to Word, and edit the text and numbers while the layout stays in place. Social security applications, residence and visa packets, and internal approval sheets are typical jobs. When the fields are filled, export, share, or print from Word.
Edit a resume template
A polished PDF resume template is difficult to personalize while it stays a PDF. Convert it to Word in the Web App, then change the wording, dates, and contact details without rebuilding the design. Prepare a lesson
Worksheets and lesson plans often arrive as PDFs you are allowed to reuse. Import them in CamScanner, convert them to Word, and add explanations, highlights, or notes on common mistakes. Reordering a section in Word is faster than retyping the page. Clear scans of printed handouts give OCR a better chance of keeping headings and lists.

Can I convert scanned PDFs to Word?
Yes, in CamScanner. Scanned PDFs store pictures of text. OCR reads those characters and rebuilds editable text. Blurry or skewed scans need a clearer capture first.
Will my formatting be preserved?
Often, on straightforward pages. Paragraphs, images, headings, and simple tables are rebuilt in Word. Nested tables, tight multi-column layouts, missing fonts, mind maps, and some tables of contents may shift. Review the .docx before you share it.
Can I convert PDF to other Office formats?

Is my data secure when converting PDF to Word?
CamScanner states that files are encrypted in transit and are not shared with third parties, and publishes certifications that include ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 27701, and ISO/IEC 20000. This site only handles membership checkout. It does not store your PDF.
How do I insert a PDF into a Word document?
Convert the PDF to Word in the Web App, then copy the content into your document. If you need the original PDF as one embedded object instead, use Word’s Insert > Object after you still have the PDF.
